Chairlift Access Policy

Any person who enters a lift queue, loads or intends to load a chairlift, or accesses any area where a lift access product is required must possess a valid Mt. Baker Ski Area Daily Lift Ticket, Season Pass, or Chairlift Access ID product, and present it upon request.

Mt. Baker Ski Area lift access products include daily lift tickets, season passes, and chairlift access ID products. These products are only available through Mt. Baker Ski Area, Inc., at designated sales locations.

Third-party or externally branded lift access products are not valid for direct chairlift access at Mt. Baker Ski Area. This includes, but is not limited to, multi-resort passes, reciprocal passes, or conglomerate ski passes. If Mt. Baker Ski Area, Inc. participates in a cooperative, reciprocal, or shared exchange program with a third party, the third-party lift access product must be presented in person at a designated Mt. Baker Ski Area lift ticket sales location to obtain a valid Mt. Baker Ski Area lift access product prior to accessing any chairlift.

Pursuant to RCW 9A.56.020 and 9A.56.050, as well as any other applicable laws or regulations, EMBARKING ON A CHAIRLIFT, including accessing chairlift queues with the intent to load a chairlift, is CONSIDERED A THEFT OF SERVICE. USE AND/OR ATTEMPTED USE OF A FORGED, UNAUTHORIZED, INVALID, AND/OR STOLEN DAILY LIFT TICKET, SEASON PASS, OR CHAIRLIFT ACCESS ID PRODUCT, AS WELL AS TRANSFERRED USE AND/OR ATTEMPTED TRANSFERRED USE of a daily lift ticket, season pass, or chairlift access ID product will be considered FRAUDULENT AND A THEFT OF SERVICE. Mt. Baker Ski Area, Inc. reserves the right to issue a trespass notice pursuant to RCW 9A.52.070, 9A.52.080, 9A.52.105, and any other applicable laws or regulations, for violation of chairlift access policies.

Mt. Baker Ski Area, Inc. reserves the right to pursue prosecution for fraudulent use and/or violation of chairlift access policies with the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and such prosecution may result in FELONY CHARGES. Mt. Baker Ski Area, Inc. also reserves the right to FINE anyone engaging in attempted fraudulent use, fraudulent use, and/or violating chairlift access policies, up to $2000, with terms and conditions, as a possible component of civil compromise.

Daily lift tickets are strictly non-transferable, personal to the user, and must be affixed to a permanent, non-transferable location—such as a zipper—to be valid.
