The Best for Beginners Package is designed for first time skiers and snowboarders and those working towards turning and stopping on easy green terrain. The lesson will prioritize getting to know your equipment, learning how to stay in control, and working towards the skills needed for riding the handle tow or beginner chair lift.
This package includes a two hour group lesson, rental equipment (includes helmet and either skis, boots & poles or snowboard & boots) and beginner chair lift ticket. Ages 7 and up. If you’d like to pick your own lesson group, we recommend a Private Lesson.

Daily Lesson Information & Registration
- Before you Go: Check the Lessons and Rentals Report on the morning of your visit for Lesson and Rental locations. Check the Snow Report for conditions and operations updates.
- Part of an instruction program may include RIDING CHAIR LIFTS or TOWS. If the participant rides a chair lift, THEY MAY RIDE ALONE OR WITH OTHER PASSENGERS, including but not limited to an instructor, other students, members of the public, and/or other employees or volunteers. If you have any questions about the use of lifts/tows in a lesson, please email instruction@mtbaker.us prior to registering.
- All participants (or their parent/legal guardian) must read and sign a Release Agreement prior to participating.
RESERVATIONS
We strongly encourage you to reserve your lessons in advance through our online store. This is the best way to ensure the type, day and time of the lesson you want.
WALK-INS
Best for Beginners and Private Lessons are also offered on a walk-in basis. Availability varies from day to day and is on a first come, first served basis. We recommend signing up at our instruction desk at 8am for morning walk-in lessons and no later than 11am for afternoon walk-in lessons. Walk-in lesson availability is not guaranteed. Check the Daily Lesson Report for more information about availability.
