September 2024 • A letter from Duncan …

Hello friends and family of Mt. Baker,

As another winter approaches, I want to thank you for your enthusiasm & support of Mt. Baker. It’s looking good for a La Nina winter! As the crew gears up for the season, I would like to let you know that after 56 years, I have resigned the Presidency of Mt. Baker Ski Area.

It has been a privilege to have had the opportunity to be deeply involved in the building and operation of Mt. Baker Ski Area over the past decades.

It has been a challenging and interesting lifestyle type of career to have helped create a successful business and community asset.

The ski area is in good hands for continued success for many years into the future with Gwyn, Mike, and Sam. I will remain on the Board of Directors and an advisor to management as their needs may arise.

I have enjoyed working with many dedicated Board of Director members and thousands of employees over the years. I have also genuinely appreciated the many relationships I have had the fortune of establishing with generations of families, customers, and passholders at Mt. Baker Ski Area.
