ABOUT MT. HOOD MEADOWS Flanking along the shoulders of the volcano, Mt. Hood Meadows was founded in 1968 by CEO Matthew Drake’s father, Franklin Drake. Mt. Hood Meadows remains one of the largest ski areas in the Northwest and has been a valued part of winter life for 3 generations of Oregonians and Pacific Northwesterners. The Baker exchange with Meadows started 6 years ago when Gwyn and Matthew met in a brewery in Hood River, OR and talked about experiences “growing up” in the ski business and it’s many changes. This led to the realization that Baker and Meadows now remain two of only a handful of originally owned/ independent ski areas left in The West, if not in the country. This exchange is part of supporting just that, and helping our passholders have access to another fun ski area in the Northwest. Find out more www.skihood.com.

Danielle was raised in Bellingham. She graduated in 2005 from Sehome High School and went on to get a degree from Western from the College of Business and Economics with a focus in Marketing. Danielle has experience in yoga, Pilates, body pump, group fitness, spin & step classes, strength training, and more. She loves spending time with Graham up in the mountains biking, snowboarding or camping- it’s always a plus when they can bring the dogs along too.
Danielle began training full time 4 years ago. She is known for her upbeat attitude, and positive reinforcement coaching style. She expects a lot out of her members, but also prides herself on being extremely relatable to the human aspects of one’s fitness journey (wine anyone?)
Graham grew up in Roslyn, Washington and came up to Bellingham to attend WWU to get his teaching degree. When Graham is not training at Apex, he teaches health, and strength and conditioning at Sehome High School. Even as a toddler Graham has spent almost all of his free time in the
mountains. With his father on the ski patrol up at Alpental, he feels at home in waist deep in snow. If he’s not playing outside, you will likely find him working on his home, stepping onto a plane, or rocking out at the Gorge with Danielle.
Graham is a firm believer in “work hard, play harder”. He believes the gym should be used to prepare you for all of the physical and mental challenges
that life brings forward everyday, and is passionate about sharing the gift of physical fitness with everyone.
Stay tuned throughout the season for more additions to exchange programs with local partners.
