What types of rentals do you offer?
We offer basic ski and snowboard rentals as well as premium ski and
snowboard rentals. Rentals available as package or individual items, including helmets.
Ski packages include skis, bindings, boots, and poles
Snowboard packages include snowboard, bindings, and boots.
Can I rent items a la carte?
Items are availabe a la carte, though some items have condtions.
SKI BOOTS You can rent ski boots only but your skis’ bindings have to pass a binding test first. The binding test will take 20 minutes on top of the rental process and it costs the same as a basic rental package ($36).
SKIS You can rent skis only but the boots you bring with you must first be seen by a Mt. Baker repair technician to ensure your boots are in good condition and they are compatible with the rental ski bindings.
Are helmets included in rental packages?
No, helmets are not included in ski & snowboard packages, but can be rented separately.
Do you rent goggles, gloves or clothing?
No we do not. Both the White Salmon and Heather Meadows rental shops
are located next to the retail shops where these items are available for
What do I need to bring to rent equipment?
You need to bring a photo ID, the license plate number of the vehicle you
drive to the ski area in, and a rental liability release form. The rental liability release form can be filled out in advance or at the ski area. In addition, you
need to bring all of your own outerwear which includes but is not limited to
a jacket, pants, hat, gloves, socks, and any other accessories.
RENTAL PAYMENT & PROCESSING
What forms of payment are accepted?
We accept US currency, Canadian Currency, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, Apple Pay, Tap-and-Go, Debit, and Mt. Baker Gift Cards.
Please note: There are no ATM machines at Mt. Baker Ski Area.
Can I purchase a lesson with my rental?
Yes, you can purchase a lesson with your rental. Please visit the Instruction Counter before renting if you are interested in a lesson. To learn more about our lessons/lesson rental packages visit our Instruction page
Can I purchase a lift ticket with my rental?
No, lift tickets must be purchased separately at the ticket window or
Instruction Desk. Please consider doing this prior to renting.
Can I reserve equipment ahead of time?
Not at this time. Skis and snowboards are rented out on a first come first
Can I rent and pick up equipment the day before?
No, rental equipment can only be rented for the day it is being used and is rented out on a first come first served basis. Rental equipment must be returned at the end of each day by 4:00pm.
Do you offer multi-day rentals?
We do not offer continuous multi-day rentals. You can rent for more than one day though each day is a separate rental. You must pay for one day at a time, fill out a new rental liability release agreement each day, and equipment must be returned at the end of each day by 4:00pm.
How can I speed up my rental process?
The best way to speed up your rental process is to be as prepared as
possible. This includes purchasing your lift ticket/lesson package and being dressed for the slopes prior to renting. In addition, you can print and fill out the Rental Liability Release Agreements for yourself and your family before driving to the mountain.
If you plan on renting at Mt. Baker more than once, take a note of your rental info so you can use this info again the next time. (Snapshot on your smartphone of your rental form once your rental technician completed it works well)
Do you offer military discounts?
Yes, with a military ID we offer discounts for active duty and their dependents.
BASIC vs PREMIUM RENTALS
What is the difference between basic and premium rentals?
A basic rental is the best beginner to intermediate option at $37.07/day (base price) for an adult package. The basic equipment is a standard Elan or Nordica ski or a standard Burton snowboard.
The premium rental is the best intermediate to advanced option at $47.27/day (base price) for an adult package. We have current models from the best brands selected for the conditions and terrain here at Baker.
Try out as many as you like per day!
Do the premium rentals include premium boots?
SKI RENTALS Both the premium and basic ski boots come from our Dalbello Vantage or Nordica Cruise rental fleet.
SNOWBOARD RENTALS Both the premium and basic snowboard boots come from our Burton Progression rental fleet.
What premium brands are available for rent?

Where are premium rentals located?
Premium rentals are available out of our White Salmon Base Area rental shop only.
What is the smallest/largest ski size?
BASIC SKI Rentals range from 70cm to 175cm.
PREMIUM SKI Rentals range from 140cm-192cm.
What is the smallest/largest snowboard size?
BASIC SNOWBOARD Rentals range from 95cm to 170cm.
PREMIUM SNOWBOARD Rentals range from 142cm to 170cm.
What is the smallest/largest ski boot size?
We have ski boot sizes from a children's 8 to an adult 16.
What is the smallest/largest snowboard boot size?
We have snowboard boot sizes from a children's 1 to an adult 14.
What is the smallest/largest helmet size?
Our helmets range from 52cm to 62.5cm.
Do you offer custom ski boot fitting services?
Is there an ATM machine at Mt. Baker Ski Area?
No. The closest ATM is 30 minutes away at Graham’s Store in Glacier, on
the way to Mt Baker.
Do you rent inner tubes or sleds?
No, we do not allow tubing or sledding within the ski area boundaries.
Do you rent cross country skis?
No, we do not have any cross county trails within the ski area boundaries.
Do you rent snowshoes?
No, we do not have any snowshoe trails within the ski area boundaries.
Do you have night skiing?
No. Ski area hours of operation are 9:00am - 3:30pm. Check Snow Report for current days' operation information.
