Overnight Parking – Unoccupied Vehicles

We have a limited number of sites available at our Heather Meadows and White Salmon Parking lots for overnight parking during the winter season. ALL vehicles staying overnight in those lots MUST have reservations, including unattended cars. Bear in mind that this is not a traditional RV campground – Mt. Baker gets the most annual average snowfall of any ski area in North America and with these unique conditions mean that all Overnight Parking users are required to be familiar with, and adhere to, all of the Overnight Parking policies and guidelines.

UNOCCUPIED OVERNIGHT PARKING sites are reserved for unoccupied car/truck/van that will be left overnight while occupant(s) camp in backcountry ONLY. No overnight camping inside vehicle is allowed in this site.

MAKING RESERVATIONS

Mt. Baker has 2 Base Areas (White Salmon & Heather Meadows) with overnight parking in both Base Areas. HOWEVER ... Base Area operations vary by day of the week and with conditions. Before choosing which Base Area to make your reservation at, read through the info at the links below to determine if your chosen Base Area is scheduled to be open with services on your chosen day(s).

Reservations are made through Roverpass. Although the sites are numbered in Roverpass for reserving, there are no assigned individual site numbers in the parking lots. Instead, there are site zones and you will be parked in the corresponding zone according to your reserved site number. Site locations are dependent on conditions. On occasion, snow removal or other ski area operations may require a site occupant to move to another site, either temporarily or for the duration of the reservation. See maps below.

WHEN MAKING A RESERVATION: once you’ve entered your dates, be sure to select “RV STORAGE SITES” to bring up the Unoccupied Overnight Parking sites.

Unoccupied Vehicles Site Policies

Maximum 2 nights in a row.

Check-out time: 7:00 am

Check with parking lot attendant for directions to your designated spot. If no attendant is nearby, check at the Ticket Office admin window for directions. NOTE: You will NOT be guaranteed a parking spot if you arrive prior to 7:00 am. Be aware that during weekends and holidays the parking lots may be near capacity. If you want to guarantee a parking spot prior to check-in time you can reserve an overnight camping spot for the night prior.

Overnight Parking Policies & Guidelines

All vehicles and items located outside in your site MUST be clearly visible at all times. During snowfall, perform regular snow removal and make sure all vehicles and items in your site are visible and/or clearly marked at all corners for visibility.

For safety reasons, ABSOLUTELY NO TENT CAMPING is allowed in or adjacent to the parking areas.

Maximum vehicles per site:
1 trailer and 1 tow vehicle
OR
1 self-contained RV, trailer, camper or van

Additional vehicles in any site must fit within the designated site, must register with overnight parking attendants, and will be charged a fee of $10/vehicle. Additional vehicles that do not fit in the designated site area will be charged for an additional site if available. If additional site is not available, vehicle will be required to leave.

Park ONLY in designated areas and in your reserved area – see Overnight Parking maps. No parking around lodges, in undesignated parking lots areas or on highway.

Depending on snow conditions, you may be required to temporarily move your vehicle(s) to allow for snow plowing. If vehicles are required to temporarily move, we will contact you either by phone or in person between 3:00 – 5:00 pm. Be sure to check your messages each day during this time. Snow removal can take several hours depending on conditions and day use traffic. Please contact the Admin Office for details.

Reservation holder must be age 18 or older. Reservation holder must be present at site every night of reservation.

100% refund until 7 days prior to check-in. 50% percent refund 3 days prior, then the reservation is non-refundable.

Note: All refund calculations exclude the RoverPass service fees and credit card processing, which are non-refundable.

All vehicles must be self-contained – no hookups are available. Pit toilets and garbage cans are made for limited use. White Salmon and Heather Meadows Toilet trailers are usually available after hours.

HEATHER MEADOWS PARKING LOT: Usually accessible 24/7

WHITE SALMON PARKING LOT: Gate open 7am – 10pm, gate closed and lot inaccessible 10pm – 7am.

*Lots may be closed due to weather, equipment operations or other unforeseen circumstances.

• Quiet time 9pm – 6am; no generators/loud activity
• Be considerate of your neighbors, area visitors and ski area personnel
• Keep your site clean
• No UAV’s (drones)
• No firearms
• No fireworks
• No snowmobiles/ATVs

Fires in designated areas only. Must use fire pit and haul out fire debris. NO FIRES ON ASPHALT.

PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT. Monitor and REMOVE your own garbage. There are no dumpsters/garbage cans available for overnight parking.

Clean up after pets, keep pets on leash at all times, keep pets secured in vehicles overnight.
