The planned course is Gabl's off of C-5. This is an expert run with a rating of double black diamond. The course may change due to weather conditions or other unforeseen factors.

Event Format & Rules
  • Athletes must complete event check-in, attend athlete meeting, & complete minimum of one venue inspection prior to competition.
  • Helmet are required for venue inspection & competition.
  • All athletes will take one judged run during Day 1 of competition. Approximately 50% of top runs will advance to Day 2 competition.
  • Course zones subject to change depending on conditions.

Mt. Baker Junior Regional IFSA Freeride Schedule of Events

Friday, March 9th

We will be setting up the perimeter and start/finish areas
on Gabl’s underneath Chair 5. The run will remain accessible to athletes,
parent/legal guardian and coaches so this is a great time to come check out
the ski area and get a feel for the course. You will need a daily lift ticket
or valid 2017-2018 Mt. Baker Season Pass to access the chair. There are no lift ticket discounts for athletes, parents/legal guardians or coaches. View daily lift ticket

Saturday, March 10th

7:45-8:15 Registration is located inside on the 3rd floor of the White Salmon Day Lodge.
• Purchase daily Lift Ticket or have a valid
 2017-2018 Mt. Baker Season Pass
• Sign Waivers (if your parent/legal guardian is 
not present you will need to sign both the IFSA and Mt. Baker Ski Area waivers beforehand and bring to Competitor Check-In).
• Pick up bib.
• Get geared up!
8:30-8:45 Athlete Meeting
• Go over course safety and judging criteria
8:45-9:00 Prepare to Load Lift
• Lifts open at 9:00 am unless snow control is
still in progress. Athletes will need to take Chair 7 to get to Chair 5, which
accesses the top of the course.
9:15-10:15 Course Inspection
• Athletes and Certified Coaches Only will have a chance to take inspection
runs from the time the lifts open until 10:15 am.
10:30-3:00 Competition
• Event will run in groups (starting order will be
available at registration) until all athletes have taken 1 run. If a weather is an issue we may start earlier, delay or reschedule the 
competition depending on the best foreseeable option.

Sunday, March 11th

8:00-8:30 Arrival
• Purchase daily Lift Ticket or have a valid
 2017-2018 Mt. Baker Season Pass
8:30-8:45 Athlete Meeting
• Go over course changes if any and judging criteria.
8:45-9:00 Prepare to Load Lift
• Lifts open at 9:00 am unless snow control is 
still in progress. Athletes will need to take Chair 7 to get to Chair 5, which 
accesses the top of the course.
9:15-10:15 Course Inspection
• Athletes will have a chance to take inspection
 runs from the time the lifts open until 11:00 am.
10:30-2:00 Competition
• Event will run in groups (starting order will be
 available at registration) until all athletes have taken 1 run. If a weather is an issue we may start earlier, delay or reschedule the 
competition depending on the best foreseeable option.
3:00-3:30 GO RIDE!
4:00-5:00 Awards Ceremony
Short ceremony on the 3rd floor of White Salmon Lodge where registration took place.
