Is there anywhere to sled/ tube on the mountain?
For customer & public safety, Mt. Baker Ski Area strictly prohibits sledding and snowplay within ski area boundaries. Sledding and snowplay may be exercised at your own risk on the National Forest Service land, located outside the ski area. Is there overnight lodging available on the mountain?
No, there is no overnight lodging available at the ski area. Please click here to see the Travel Info page for information on lodging near the ski area.
How long does it take to get to Mt. Baker from:
Bellingham: 1 hour & 15 minutes
Abbotsford: 1 hour & 10 minutes

MOUNTAIN: Take Exit 255 (Sunset/Mt. Baker Exit) off I-5 and head east on HWY 542 (Mt. Baker Highway) for 56 miles until you reach the ski area.
Can I get my pass at the mountain
Yes, you can purchase and have your pass made at the White Salmon Lodge Administration Office when the ski area is in operation.
Will my cell phone have reception at the ski area?
Most major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, Sprint-Nextel, T-Mobile) have reception at the ski area. Reception is limited in some areas.
Are there TVs, ATMs, or Wi-Fi available at the ski area?
No, there are no TVs, ATMs or Wi-Fi available at the ski area. Keep in mind that the last ATM before the ski area is in the town of Glacier at Grahams restaruant. There is also an ATM at the Maple Fuels gas station in Maple Falls.
Can I get the 5th grade free ride pass on the mountain?
No, the 5th grade free ride pass can only be processed in the downtown business office. Please click here to see the 5th Grade Ride Free page.
Can I buy lift tickets at the business office in Bellingham?
You can purchase lift vouchers from the business office, which are redeemable for a lift ticket at the ski area ticket booth. Lift Vouchers do not expire. If redeemed after the current season, redemption will be subject to the difference in price between the purchased value of the voucher and the lift ticket being purchased at that time. Vouchers are not exchangeable, non-refundable, and are not replaced if lost.
Are chains required on the Mt. Baker Highway?
It is required by State Law that you carry chains in your vehicle from November until April. Please visit the official WSDOT website for current conditions and requirements.
Do you provide child care at the ski area?
Due to lack of demand Mt. Baker no longer has child care facilities. We offer private lessons for ages 3 and up.
Do you allow RVs to park overnight at the ski area?
Overnight parking of self contained RVs and campers is permitted in our parking lots only in specific areas. These are: the southeast corner of the Heather Meadows parking lots, and the back (northeast) corner of the White Salmon lot. Please note that the White Salmon parking lot gate is locked from 5 PM until 6 AM every day.

What are the Ski Area hours of operation?
Mt. Baker ski area lifts run from 9 am until 3:30 pm. Open operating days and hours wholly depend on conditions and weather. Weather and conditions can be a factor affecting the days and time of opening. When is your opening date?
Mt. Baker opens as soon as we receive enough snowfall to do so; the amount of snowfall needed depends on the quality of snow and how it packs down. That usually ranges from between 24 and 36 inches to allow a limited opening, and we typically open around the mid-to-end of November.
What are the conditions on the mountain?

Do you have a lost and found?
Yes we do. Lost and found items are kept at the ski area with the exception of smaller personal items that are sent down to our Bellingham business office. All other items like clothing, snow gear, skis, boards, boots, backpacks, etc. are kept at the White Salmon lodge. You may file a lost and found report at either lodge's administration office or by calling the business office at (360) 734-6671. Most items left longer than 14 days in Lost & Found are donated.
Are there pay phones at the Ski Area?
No, there are no public phones at the Ski Area. If you need to make an off mountain call, most cell phones carriers have service on the mountain.
Are dogs allowed at Mt. Baker Ski Area?
Dogs are not allowed in the White Salmon base area. Dogs are allowed only at Heather Meadows and owners must adhere to prudent clean up and care practices.
Do you offer gift certificates?
We offer gift certificates redeemable for lift tickets, rental products, and instruction (including our popular Best for Beginners Intro Package). Our gift certificates never expire! If not redeemed in the season it was purchased, gift certificate redemption will be subject to the difference between the original purchase price and the purchase price of the product at the time of use. Gift certificates are not exchangeable, non-refundable, and are not replaced if lost.
What is the physical address of Mt. Baker Ski Area?
There is no physical address for Mt. Baker Ski Area. The ski area lies at the end of State Route 542 in the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Our lower lodge, White Salmon, is located at milepost 53.5 and our upper lodge, Heather Meadows is located at milepost 56. If you want to use your GPS for directions, you can use Glacier, WA 98244, which is about 17 miles west of the ski area.
